Origin 2100 Replacement Key -
CodeMaven - 12-06-2021
Hi all,
I have recently acquired an Origin 2100, however I do not have the MSC
key for it. Does anyone know if all Origins are keyed the same or if they are
different and what options there are for replacing a lost key? I can't
find anything in any of the documentation about it. Is the only option
to remove the MSC and replace or disable the keyswitch? Or take it to a
locksmith?
Thankyou,
Troy

You can take it to a locksmith, but it's probably not necessary. The keys aren't specifically coded. All you need is any one of the keys made for them -- I'd talk to Ian Mapleson.
If you were stateside I'd mail you a key in a heartbeat, but it's not that simple.

A photograph of such a key, showing any number on the bow and the depth of each cut, is all a locksmith needs to cut a replacement.

It's marked 'Siemens S2001'. The ruler is in metric (centimeters)

Hi all, thankyou for the replies,
I was expecting an email notification of replies, but I didn't get any so I didn't think anyone had replied to my post and didn't check back until now. I ended up finding a whole MSC unit with key on E-Bay, so I just bought that. I wasn't sure if all machines were keyed the same, but as people have said they are indeed all the same so the key that came with the new MSC works for me - I didn't have to change the MSC, although it does look pretty easy to do from the user manual.
I think I'll make a few copies. And yes, that key that Jan-Jaap posed is identical to the one I got.
Cheers,
Troy
