Softwindows 95 v5 Experiences -

Hi all,
Just curious what 'windows or Dos' software you have successfully running within your Softwindows 95 application. I never got rid of my old windows 3.1, 95, DOS applications from when I used them on my old 486 and may start trying them out in Softwin.
What are others running?

I* tried running warcraft 2 in softwindows95 once, It didn't work so I really never tried anything else. I've been thinking of looking into it again with a different DOS emu recently (like qemu) but I just haven't gotten around to it

LOL, always use native IRIX keygens, Windows keygens are a source of viruses.
FWIW, SoftWindows95 v4.0 was better (faster, more stable) than SoftWindows95 v5.0

Update.
I installed my old versions of Corel Draw v8 suite and it work perfect. I also installed my backup of AutoCAD 2000 and runs perfectly. I had to increase SoftWindows95 memory, gfx memory to the max. AutoCAD runs just as good as I remember running it in 2005 on pentium work computers.
MS office 98 professional also works perfect.
I tried Heretic, but it caused a crash.
Later I will try other apps like 3d studio R4 Dos and see how that goes.

Does v4 work with Irix 6.5?

Yes but it runs in a closed environment, so not worried about the odd virus in SW that's not connected to anything else. Besides, I don't have the irix keygen ;)

I think it does, but I don't think I have any version of it on any of my systems right now.

Autodesk Animator studio 1.1 works well. It was originally released for win95. Also installed Caligari true space 3 with great success. So far installing dos applications have been a challenge I.e. 3d studio r4 and generic CADD 6.1. Even when I got the display driver working “ok”, the mouse would not work. I’m not sure if dos in emulation under win95 in elmulation mode is loosing the ps2 connection under all the layers of emulation.
In the next day or so, I plan on trying AutoCAD r12dos to see if it works.
What impresses me is that I was thinking of building a legacy 486 Windows 3.1 or 95 box, but I’m really liking running the legacy apps on an sgi. Kind of like getting the best of both worlds.

I recall installing and running both VisualBasic 5 (or 6) and some Borland IDE which worked fine, also as mentioned, an older version of Office.
Never tried any games though.
