Can't Find Graphics Board Info With hinv? -

I recently came into possesion of two Octane2's and I'm trying to find the specs of both machines. Neither of the machines have a version of Irix installed so I went into 'System Maintenance' and typed hinv. All it says about the Graphics is that it is 'Odyssey'. I've seen people online using the same 'hinv' command and they're able to see 'V12' 'V10' etc. I'm starting to think I might need to install Irix to find out what graphics boards are in the machines. Could I tell by taking the boards out of the system also? Is there another way?

PROM will say Odyssey for all my V cards, only once drivers are reloaded under Irix can it tell what they are.

It occurred to the that the system maintenance mode would have a hobbled version of hinv, thanks for the update...

You can tell by removing the cards, and along the side with the heatsink, nearest the edge, should be a part number. Go to Ian Mapleson's parts list, and then ctrl-f it from the list to find out. Or put it in Google
MAKE SURE THE SYSTEM IS OFF, UNPLUGGED AND YOU'VE RELEASED THE SLIDING LOCK ALL THE WAY.
Sorry for shouting, but it's important.
