Illustrator 5.5 IRIX 6.5.23 - bjames - 08-16-2018

Can anyone confirm if Adobe Illustrator only works on IRIX 6.5.22 and lower? Illustratror works perfect on my O2 running 6.5.22 but when trying to install on a more current IRIX, the following errors are shown;

It almost appears Illustrator is looking for a client DPS library that inquires about the server's DPS capabilities, and if the server isn't capable of displaying PostScript, then the DPS library looks for the mentioned program in the current $PATH to get its output rastered. I was told the DPS was retired in the 6.5 Applications CD from Nov 2003 (around 6.5.23), thus it's not present in IRIX 6.5.27 and Illustrator freezes.

Anyone else see have this problem in INRIX 6.5.23 and up?

Adobe Products work fine on IRIX 6.5.22 or lower, the problem is the Adobe/DPS/Postscript system got replaced in 6.5.23. It takes some careful navigation to keep the adobe stuff post 6.5.22. There was a post on nekochan about this, but basically there are various minefields to navigate on the road to 6.5.30. I was actually working on this and documenting it when nekochan went down.
