Users With Nintendo64 Development Hardware -
Raion - 08-15-2018
This post is a list of users here with SGI machines which may be of interest to those who like the Nintendo64.
Raion: Owns an Acclaim Indy (Not a Turok one, don't ask!) unfortunately with the data lost. Also has IRIX MIPSPro and IDO versions.

I just got an indy and I'm wondering if I can find a N64 Dev Board for it. I know it's rare though. I've wondered if you could use an arduino board or a raspberry pi to create a device that emulates the N64 Dev board and then plugs into a PCB that connects to the Indy. That way the Indy can recognize the Raspberry Pi as a dev board. This device would enable hundreds of Indy users and possibly other SGI users to create games the way they would have during the early days of the N64.

No, unfortunately. The U64 board basically has an entire N64 on the GIO32 bus including CPU and RCP. The Indy itself doesn't have the same CPU or basic hardware the N64 does.

I have one myself in an R4400 Indy that is mostly untested however is missing the joybus interface.
Jax184 who was formerly at Nekochan and AssemblerGames. He has one of his own that is known working (and another on loan that last I heard does not), plus (scanned) physical documentation and the (dumped) development software on tape.

You can also find on archive.org a working Nintendo Ultra 64 SGI Indy HDD image for Irix 5.3.
It's here:
https://archive.org/details/ultra64sgiindy
I downloaded the .ZIP file (around 800Mb) but unzipped it's a 16 Gb .img file.
I converted it to .CHD (again around 800Mb) and tried it with MAME. And it works!
It's IRIX 5.3 on a 16Gb HD with all the IRIX demos and the N64 development.
