Removable media - photo570 - 04-12-2021

What removable media (if any) works with Irix?

Syquest 44/88, Iomega Zip/Jaz, Floptical?

Looking to get something for my O2 and Octane, if it is a thing? SCSI obviously.

Any pointers welcome. Smile

Cheers,
Jason.

The ZIP100 works for sure. But use IRIX 6.5 (support under older IRIXes is limited, the FAT filesystem might not work.
SCSI floppies (1.44MB) usually work without problems (even on IRIX 5.3).

Thanks,

Definitely running 6.5.

Now that I know it "might" work, I will keep an eye out and see what comes up on eBay.

Cheers.

SCSI floptical drives from Insite were offered as factory-installed options on some systems (e.g., Indy and more). So those will definitely work, too.
