PS/2 Trackpad for IRIX? - stuart - 02-08-2021

Has anyone tried one of these?

... given my lack of desk-space, this would be a neat replacement for my current SGI mouse... although it lacks a middle button and I've heard scary stories of non-compliant PS/2 hardware having a habit of destroying SGI machines 😧

I've use the old Logitech trackman (with wheel) PS/2 trackballs on SGIs just fine. I never like the touchpads from PS/2 connector days (they needed to be glued down or they'd move on you, plus dragging windows sucked).

I used logitech trackmans for a LONG time. Since I'm on Apple now I use trackpads, but yeah consider thumb-style trackballs if you're short on desktop space (I did that for over 20 years).
