WTB : VW320 memory kit - arhiman57 - 12-11-2020

Hello,

I'm searching a memory kit for a dual CPU VW320 to try start my machine and install nt4. Any size, doesn't matter.

Located in Europe.

Regards

Hi, I have a 512mb and a 1gb set. Unfortunately the 1gb one I have never been able to test it because the motherboard of the Silicon Graphics 320 no longer works for me.
If you are interested I could also give you the workstation as spare parts. Eventually, if you like, you could trade with something else, I don't know how to quantify the price. However, I am Italian and I live in Italy. I also wrote to you privately for other things.

Hi,

Sorry I missed you're answer....

I found a 256mb for 38euros but it's in the US.

I'm maybe interested by you're 512 kit even don't need that much. I don't have so much stuff to trade but you can list me what you are searching in the small parts category.

What type of processor you have in you're 320?

Regards

Hi, sorry if I answer you only now. However, the configuration is the standard one, it had a 500mhz processor and 512Mb of ram, nothing more.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but got a couple of questions that I thought either of you may be able to answer. I have a VW320 that does not seem to boot properly. It flashes the LED A few times then pauses. According to the manual, it indicates a fault in the RAM memory, but it is not very specific as to which position each slot is at. Moving the RAM around does seem to cause different numbers of flashes, but nothing that I can tie to specific positions of RAM.

My machine has 2 CPUs. Does that require populating the full set of RAM slots or should still work fine with just 6 slots?

Any info you have on the RAM would be greatly appreciated.
