Tezro auto power on and power button/reset button do not work -
alphaaxp - 09-02-2020
When I plug in the power supply, I don't need to press the power button, tezro will power on automatically.
The power button and reset button do not work.
Does anyone know the reason? Thank you

Have you removed the front skin? The power button and reset button operate through a very fragile plastic hinge system. It's not uncommon that they get stuck.

Power and reset are indeed mechanical problems, but the problem of automatic startup still exists when the power is turned on. I checked the system and found that RTC can not keep the time. Is it possible that this causes automatic startup? Or other possible reasons?

Please be very clear when you say RTC and time, because the Tezro has two of them, fiddling with the wrong one...can lead to real problems. What date and time are you checking, in an Installed Irix OS, or in the L1 console?
If it's the date/time on the installed OS clock (desktop time) - you need to buy a new snaphat battery for the IO9 board and install it. Do that first, buy the bigger battery version snaphat (search the forum for snaphat info). That RTC is in control of NVRAM variables and General time keeping for Irix. That will fix your time keeping on Irix.

I had a flat RTC on my IO-9 and it didn't cause me such problems, but you never know!
When the batteries in my PC's have run flat in the past, they've displayed strange, random symptoms! (The USB controller in the Alienware started to behave erratically for instance!)
Maybe check your environmental settings. Have you tried typing in "resetenv" in the command monitor in the PROM?

Your flat RTC on the IO9 didn't cause loss of time keeping in Irix? Because that's a listed symptom he's asking about. Solve the easy stuff first...

It absolutely did cause a timekeeping problem in IRIX, but didn't cause the system to power up automatically when plugged in though!
I'm thinking that there may be an "auto power up" option selected in his environmental settings. (This is obviously just an educated guess though!)
Maybe its previous owner may have wanted it to power up automatically, in the case of a loss of power.

My O2 powered up the moment I connected main power when it was in its fault state, even after swapping out the system board. Now when I plug it in it remains in the off state. This just means there's currently a fault or there used to be a fault that wasn't cleared.
I would remove everything except the system board (the one with the CPU(s) attached) and plug it in. Turn it off, add another card, plug it in. Do this until it's either fully repopulated OR the fault is found.

An "enableall", as a precautionary measure, followed by a "resetenv" in the command monitor may do the trick!
You do have a point though, even though the O2 and Tezro are very different animals.
I don't know if there's not maybe a jumper which may cause the system to behave in this way! (As L1 is required to start the system!)

Well I'd still do the RTC snaphat first, as doing anything to reset anything related to the NVRAM likely won't do anything until you can retain NVRAM settings.
