Hostname issues in IRIX 5.3 - darkhelmet02 - 07-23-2020
I gave my Indy a fresh install of IRIX 5.3, and now when I attempt to open system manager I get a message saying "There is no system by this name on the network".
I used system manager to set the IP address and hostname, so it's not like I made a mistake entering it in /etc/hosts

/etc/sys_id and /etc/hosts need to match, but other than that, it sounds like a problem with 5.3, which had a multitude of issues that required patches.

Ah, I didn't know about /etc/sys_id. I will have to check on that, but it probably is an issue with IRIX like you say. Thanks!
