You can see that I'm a Sony fan, as I only have PS's in my collection, as far as the modern consoles go.

There is a reason fo this!

Back in the day, when "The Force Unleashed" was released, I went out and bought an Xbox 360 elite (the black one) just to play it! That really was the only title I played on that console!!!!

While I had my Xbox, one of my friends experienced "THE RED CIRCLE OF DEATH" on his, and we opened it up to see if we could fix it. What I saw on the inside of that machine shocked me, and still does to this day! (It was awfully designed!!!)

You know what they say: "First impressions last!" During that time, I had nothing but buyers regret, as the PS3 Fat was so beautiful and well designed in comparison!

I tend to judge things holistically (Inside and out)! It tells allot about the designers of a piece of hardware, when the parts that you as a consumer are not meant to see, are well thought out and fit together beautifully!

This is the reason I've never given Xbox a second look!

This being said, is there anyone here who favours Xbox? And if so, why?!!!

I have all the consoles, I like them each for different reasons, but mostly because some titles are only available on certain consoles. I get what you are saying about the design aspects and the "internals", but I really could care less on something like that, however, I care quite a bit about things like that on my 911 GT3

Game consoles, power tools, and several other things are now perfect examples of "cost engineering", so while the outside looks great, you might not want to have a peek behind the curtain. I really like watching the "BOLTR" series of vids on YT by AvE, he tears all kinds of things apart and explains everything.

I get what your saying, but I look at absolutely everything from a purist point of view! It's quite simple, I don't like to buy junk!

I'm certainly not going to collect the older Xbox's, but I will get an Xbox Series X if Bethesda releases a Fallout exclusive for Xbox!

The Bethesda acquisition by Xbox was a big move and props to them for that!

The Xbox Series X looks to be a well conceived design, however, I'm not particularly wild about its form factor, for the following reasons:

The external rectangular shroud should have been fitted in the same way as Apple fitted the cylindrical shroud around the Mac Pro 2013, with the seam around the base of the machine, as it just looks nicer!





I also don't like the non-removable rubber feet on the one side of the machine, as it looks tacky and unfinished!!! Let's face it, the Xbox Series X was designed to stand vertically, period!!! (Yes PlayStation did the same with the PS2, 3 and 4, but because the design was asymmetrical, they could get away with it aesthetically!)

PlayStation on the other hand should never have produced the glossy central shroud for the PS5, as it's very difficult to mould such a piece of plastic and have it have a perfectly flat, curved surface! IT SHOULD HAVE HAD A MATTE FINISH!!! It makes the machine look cheap in my opinion!



I'm very happy with the Series X's internal design though!

I like them both and am waiting patiently for them to return back to stock. I predict that the XBOX Series X-2 will just be a matte black corsair PC case.
