Houdini in Irix Part 2. Version 6.5

The last Houdini video was in version 5.5. In this episode we show how to use the new area lights vs the old spotlight with soft shadow.

We open up the UI to reveal panes regarding selections types, display types, and the Camera, grid, and render engine selection.

I use the file node to load an OBJ of the Silicon Graphics cube logo "bug" and light and shade it.

Then we move on to creating geometry and using the edit node to modify the shapes into collision items which we will use with particle dynamics.

Finally I will show you how to create a POP (Particle OPerator) network to create the particle emission, gravity, and collisions from scratch.
