Help to identify Indigo - m_emelchenkov - 11-29-2019

Hello!

I've got an empty Indigo. Please look at boards and help me to identify it (what video board, what CPU board (R3000 or R4000)). Yes, you see it right, chips are absent. I don't know if chips were removed from working machine or these boards are completely dead. I bought it as e-waste.

Maybe someone has a replacement for sale?

Someone know how to test PSU (like shorting pins in ATX PSUs)?

The motherboard is an IRIS Indigo R4000 board, but it's missing all of it's socketed chips:



The Graphics board is an Express Graphics board, and again, it's missing all of it's socketed chips:

To be honest, it will be easier to purchase complete boards rather than to source all of these missing chips!

That's strange that R4000 was installed. The PSU is 12V, not 16V. Thank you!

I bought a complete R4000 board and an Elan graphics set from Ian Mapleson for a good price:

You can run an R4000 with an R3000 PSU, but I wouldn't suggest doing so for an extended period of time though.

Thanks for the contact. Hmm, I read somewhere that 12V PSU is for R3000, and 16V PSU is for R4000. Now I read somewhere :-) that R4000 could have 12V PSU too. Do you know the difference between voltage, what's right?

The difference is actually in how much current the PSU can deliver.

You are right, my memory let me down . I have 5V 34A model, so it seems the whole "box set" was properly installed. Now my next steps are:
a) I will clean up everything, too much dust.
b) I'll try to test PSU (I don't know how to do it yet).
c) I'll buy spare parts.

I very hope PSU is alive, because it's too heavy to order from abroad.

Just be aware that your PSU is missing the system's speaker. I don't know what effect this will have on it's functionality?

Yes, I noticed it several minutes ago. Because it is my first Indigo system, at first look I thought it is a placeholder for a cooler. But what kind of cooler should be here, it is nonsense, because no holes in the PSU. So I thought it is a placeholder for cooler in a more powerful PSU model which probably has holes there. But several minutes ago, when googling info, I noticed a speaker there . There should not be any effect on PSU functionality, the speaker has standard 2-pin connector.
