Onyx2 IO6G ef0 SSRAM issue -

Damn...
This just happened with absolutely no warning, no earlier symptoms , nothing . System boots with the media disconnected, and simply states that ef0 is down.
No other 'complaints'. BUT as soon as I connect anything to the network port, new cable switch, router, anything.. It keeps on spewing out the following:
ALERT: ef0 rx SSRAM hardware parity error
This happens on both rx and tx, and gets to the point where it throws a kernel panic and causes CPU0 to halt and the system to reset.
Edit: noticed something else. Analogue audio output stopped working completely, only optical out functions.
Any suggestions, workarounds?

Your IO6G is failing.

First up, I would pull it out and examine it for any obvious failures, such as bad tantalum caps or the like.

Thanks for the feedback

I pulled the system out of storage and will examine the IO6G. It could just be bad caps that failed over the years. The rest of the system is okay for now.
