Helping a buddy move, I ended up in possession of an Octane..
After a quick cross country journey, she showed up on Tuesday !

Your videos have given me much to think about..
I'm really excited with this guy -- wasn't in the market for an Octane, especially after building up my Indigo2.. but I couldn't say no...
I got Quake3 going on it (she needs a fresh IRIX install, the previous owner left it tweaked a bit) but the performance is absolutely stunning.

The configuration you’ve got there is rather potent. I enjoy the Octane! Unlike the Tezro or Onyx2, it boots rather quickly and is very capable! 😎

No argument the Tezzie is a slow starter, but it's eminently capable
