how to get nekoware working ? -

Hi guys,
This is my first post here so i will introduce myself a little.
After like 7 years getting back to the SGI thing, i was able to fix my old octane finally and got a new O2 from ebay (just in case it bite the dust again), wish i couldn't have trashed my old O2 a decade ago but this is how life is

.
Also find out about the nekochan forum death was quite a surprise, lucky for me you guys have this new forum here.
Now i have IRIX 6.5.24 installed on my O2 and OCTANE and running very nice, got NFS working and can access the net using mozilla.
Now my actual question i could like to get nekoware installed on my irix boxes, have found this perl script here :
http://techpubs.spinlocksolutions.com/irix/nekoware-installer/
This script seem to make everything super easy but of course i see a catch, if i don't have perl installed this script don't work so perl is in the nekoware and have a gazillion dependencies, how can i get perl running so i can run this script ?, or there's a better way to do this ?.

Neko_perl 5.8.9 has no dependencies, so just download and install it. You should also install neko_wget at the same time.
Then you'll need to download a descript.ion file from a mirror that has it (for some reason irix network's nekoware mirror doesn't...), which you can do using nekodeps.pl. Then profit!

The reason I don't have the files is because it never works right on our mirror for some reason, and I got tired of people demanding to know why it didn't work properly.

For those looking for a currently working mirror with the nekodeps files, check out larbob's site.

Edit: typing is hard
