Googling SGI stuff just became weird... -

Searching for "Onyx2 VR" no longer brings back what one might normally expect.

There has to be a "Performance Co-Pilot" joke in here, somewhere.

I do wish it had the slogan "Fuel your desire until your face turns Indigo and you breathe great gasps of O2"

SGI itself often brings up the Nichiren Buddhist cult Sokka Gakkai International. That's part of the reason I named the site irix network, not SGI network or anything with "SGI" in the name.
But yeah, Onyx2 VR seems to bring up stuff of the profligates. How droll.

Re the Buddhist thing, indeed, I forgot about how that clouds the search results aswell. I often search with "-buddhist", etc.
It is of course worse now that Nekochan has gone. I think Google has redone all of its "relevance" metrics or however it works, so to whatever extent SGI refs we'd care about used to show up higher in the results is no longer the case because the foundation of that has disappeared.
Good point about the forum site name, hadn't thought of that.
Ian.

Onyx2 is an SGI trademark but I guess no one who's still at the former SGI gives a crap about enforcing IRIX trademarks.

Some SGI trademarks are dead. Just waiting for the USPTO to burnout the "IRIX" trademark, so I can trade mark it for myself.
I would intend to allow the community to easily apply for licenses. Anything non-commercial would be free and anything commercial would be at reasonable rates, negotiated so that everybody is happy.
At least that is if somebody else doesn't snap it up first.
