BarcoCreator 7.2? - Irinikus - 05-03-2019

Has anyone here managed to get BarcoCreator 7.2 working, as the "code words" given in the text file aren't working for me?

I'll try it later, I'm doing a dummy 6.5.22 install on my Octane to test some stuff.

I have tested it on a O2 and it worked there. Heard that someone used it on a V8 Octane, and it worked, but only after a few tries.

What "code words" did you use, as the "code words" that came in the accompanying text file for the version that I've tried are incorrect?

there are a few different versions of barco creator floating around - one has a patched installer, the others you need to set your hostid to 69 08 64 5e

this is from a readme file I have for one of the versions:

[cut unneccesary steps and modified installation]

Before you start the installation, change your HOSTID to 69 08 64 5e .

Run ./install.bg, and enter the following when asked for the "code words". Press return every 5 letters/numbers, and return twice when done.

Everything should go smoothly from here. Reboot when it asks you to.

As a normal user run /bg/gen/local/com/install_bgpath, and /bg/gen/local/com/install_bgalias .

Remember to set the HOSTID (just do it in the script), and run cre7_2... and it should work Smiley

The HTML manual is in /bg/cre_v072/dat/local somewhere.

If you have dual processors (or more!) you have to set this in ~/creator.cfg, AFAIK.

Let me know if it works!

The ISO has been prepatched to ignore the HOSTID-check, and also to automatically license all features.

Run ./install.bg from the CD-ROM. Enter the following when asked for the "code words". Press return after every string of 5 letters/numbers, and press return twice when done.

Thanks for the link! Before I cut it to disk, I just want to know where you got it form, as the ISO is exactly the same size as the one I've already tried with the same set of codes. and it didn't work. JacquesT also tried it on his O2 and had the same problem. (Changing my system's hostid is absolutely out of the question, due to all of the other licensed software installed.)

The size should be the same, only a few instructions have been changed.
