SGI Silicon Safari - Jacques - 04-26-2019

I remember visiting the tour truck (Silicon Safari) around '96 ish at Computex in Durban. It was a blast! I walked out of displays in the main halls looking at 486's etc into a display truck running Onyx and Indigo2! It was amazing and blew my mind when I was a lad.

I also remember calling SGI Sub Sahara after I left this a few weeks later and recall I spoke to somebody quite high up to find out about institutions that taught with SGI gear. Smile

Wow, I was not aware of this (or the North American Magic Bus). SGI marketing was always doing something cool. Yet another thing I'd want to cover if I ever remade my History of Silicon Graphics series...
