Problem with boot - mcren136@hotmail.com - 04-13-2019

Rolleyes  Hi everyone ,
I've just decided to "revive" my old indy ... but it gave me this message ( attached img) ... and I'm also looking to get an adapter from scsi to sata to "see" if it is a HD problem or something else ...
Thank you very much for any hint :-D

Hi mcren and welcome,

It looks like the disk is having problems. Check first that the cables are okay.
Does the disk make odd sounds, like clicking?

If you need to get a new disk don't buy an SCSI-sata adapter. Those are very expensive.

Your best bet is to buy a SCA disk with 80 pin SCSI interface and buy a 80 SCA->50 pin converter. This way you get a quiet modern disk inside your Indy without breaking the bank.

Alternatively there are adapters like the SCSI2SD which converts an SD card into a SCSI disk. It's more expensive than a SCA SCSI disk though.

Thank you dexter1 ,
no the disk doesn't make any weird sound , it sound like it's spinning but does not vibrate like they normally do :-) the cable is a flat wire with 2 "exits" and a terninal cap .
I have the disk on the second interface leaving the firs one empty .
Yes I'm trying to see if it is worth it . I'll have a look and see how expensive can this be :-)
Otherwise I'll just give it away for free to anyone willing to take it :-)
