Wow, installed NetBSD 9.1 today using SCSI2SD -- it's great so far! I wasn't loving being stuck so far back in the past with Solaris 2.6 (and no compiler). Never used NetBSD but liking it so far. Reminds me of mid-90's linux days rather than the new fangled linux these days. Seems like great option if you have an old Sparc32 machine. I'm grateful NetBSD is still supporting sparc32! Just figured I give an update in case anyone else is kicking around with Sparc32 hardware. (Though haven't found a web browser yet!)

I'm quickly learning this is going to be an uphill battle to do anything productive lol. Any recommendations on an OS that is still actively updated for sparc32? I know Linux and OpenBSD stopped supporting. It looks like NetBSD might be my best option? Curious to hear any recommendations. (BTW- I got this up and running with a netboot install from a Raspberry Pi and my god was there some hidden knowledge needed. I can share the details if anyone is interested.)
I have 3 disks on mine. One with Solaris 2.6, One with Nextstep 3.3 and one external with Netbsd 9.1. Netbsd is kinda cute on this thing but it is slow and forget about running a modern browser.

Haha yeah that browser that came with Solaris 2.6 is looking pretty nice right about now with no options on the NetBSD horizon. :( My SS20 with the dual 125MHz ran pretty nicely (on Solaris 2.6), but NetBSD on my SS20 clone with dual SM61's (60MHz) isn't the best. It's not recognizing the 2nd CPU either. Not sure why that is. (I have SM61's in both MBus slots.)
