This Skywriter is used in dual
headed mode rather than cyclops.
I get two VGXT graphics pipes. One per
CRT. Hooray! |
 |
Here's an exterior front view of
a SkyWriter/VGXT
in my basement. This one is in particularly
good condition. |
 |
Opening the front covers reveals
the cardcage front
panel, POWER METER, and BUS0 SCSI drive
box. |
 |
The behind the front panel are
the characteristic cables
and logic cards. SkyWriter has a quite
a few of both even in base configurations. |
 |
Here the side panel opens, and
the video cables are
laid in the side cable trough. |
 |
Here's a picture of the side trough...
not much action here. |
 |
Back view. |
 |
Back view, door open. Power distribution
box on the bottom there. Rackmount cardcage, drive drawer, and power supplies,
in the top half of the cabinet. Bottom empty, in this model. Note the diamond
shaped cutout, this is
how cables are routed from the front panel
to the rest of the interior of the cabinet. |
 |
The front panel, with video cables
installed. Note here that this machine in not configured for Cyclops Mode,
instead it's used in Dual Head mode. |
 |
Close up of the cardcage. Quite
a few cables here, although there's room for plenty more! Braided metal
cables on the left and right of the panel prevent it from dropping too
far down.

Here's a nice close up of the logic
cards, and this is a list of what they are: |
